Battle of the Woods for Div 1AA State Title

Some things are just meant to be.

The Brentwood Bruins and Ravenwood Raptors will face off Saturday, May 21st at 2:30pm to chase the Division 1AA Lacrosse State Championship. The game will take place at Nolensville Stadium on the campus of NHS.

The two WCS schools celebrate "The Battle of the Woods" between their athletic teams, creating an atmosphere that is exciting and full of that extra something that makes sports so enjoyable. This match up promises to deliver on the promise. The two teams played a tight mid season contest that was won by Brentwood 12 - 10. The Raptors will look to make amends on Championship Weekend.

Coach Alan Garner's Ravenwood squad has rolled through playoff wins vs. Kingsport and Cookeville. Brentwood survived a one goal scare in round 1 vs. Collierville and defeated Franklin in round 2, 12 - 7.

When asked about the contest Coach Garner was his normal candid self, "Battle of the Woods part 2 for a state title? If you can't get excited about that, you're not much of a high school lacrosse fan. Our players are very excited and I know we'll see their best effort."
